Not Another Alligator Movie
There have been many alligator movies in my lifetime anyways. I have to admit it has been a while since there has been one dedicated to alligators only. Rampage had a crocodile plus a wolf and gorilla so it does not count. It has been 20 years since the original Lake Placid movie was released so at least they are not saturating the market at this time.
Review
I was a little interested in seeing this movie. When I finally did, it met my expectations. Was it almost completely predictable? Yes but so are almost all other monster/thriller movies. If you look at the movie as simple entertainment then you won't be disappointed. If you are looking for realism then you will be disappointed in several scenes. The only part of this movie that was a complete disappointment was the ending. Don't get me wrong. The ending was expected but it abruptly ended. I would have enjoyed another five to ten minutes to see some resolution and not just make assumptions on what happens next. I would recommend watching this movie at least once if you get the opportunity.
Rating
I would rate this as a solid SD movie. It is at least worth a rental. I was able to pick up my HD copy for $8 at Family Video.
