Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - Movie Review

So It Begins

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has gotten mixed reviews. Let me try to shed some light on this. Those who have kept up with the Marvel series exclusive to Disney+ will understand what is going on. This expands the universe in ways that can be appreciates. For those who have not fallen into the Disney+ scam to keep customers shackled to their content that can only be found on their streaming service, the movie has some rather large plot holes that could confuse the normal MCU movie goer.

This puts a large gap of those who will understand the whole story making it an extreme range of why some like and some don't like this movie. So for those who wish to enjoy the movie, I would recommend at least watching WandaVision on Disney+. If you have time, I would also recommend the What If...? animated series as well.

Because Disney is not releasing their streaming content on DVD/Blu-ray anytime soon, I suspect this may start effecting viewers opinions on if future MCU movies are good or bad. Disney must not remember what happened to Marvel Comics when fans had to read multiple comics to keep up with story arcs. I was one of them back in the days that enjoyed Wolverine comics but ended up having to collect three or more other lines to keep up with stories like X-tinction Agenda, Alpha, and The Infinity Gauntlet.

If they continue to have important plot details only accessible within the streaming series, future movies may not be the financial blockbusters Disney has come to enjoy. I highly expect The Marvels to be the next movie that relies on you having watch WandaVision. Spider-Man No Way Home was different since it relied on stories that were years in the past and that you could get or probably already had on DVD/Blu-ray.

Review

For those who have kept up with the streaming series and are familiar with some other content, this movie is a fast pace thrill ride from beginning to end. The characters have good development within the 2+ hours. Even with this knowledge, the movie is not a top 10 in the MCU list in my opinion. That being said, it was a good movie. For those not familiar with WandaVision series, some of the plot will have to be taken with a grain of salt. There is a cameo that those familiar with Sam Raimi's movies will either be expecting or appreciate. There are also two credit scenes for those curious.

Rating

Because I am familiar with the content, I would give this a HD rating. I will be adding this to my collection once it is under $10. I will not feel the need to have the physical disc with this movie but I have not felt the need for physical discs since the start of phase 4 with the exception of wanting Spider-Man No Way Home on disc when it goes on sale (hopefully soon).

Avengers: Endgame - Review

Movie Review - Spoiler Free I will try to keep this a spoiler free review. First, I would like to applaud Disney/Marvel for making a movie over the 2 hour limit that most movies have kept themselves to lately. The movie would have felt rushed if it was only 2 hours. The movie starts out appropriately timed to the events of Avengers: Infinity War. The movie kept you emotional invested throughout the entire movie. There was some predictability with the story but for the most part, I was able to enjoy the ride without knowing what would happen next. This to me made the movie extremely enjoyable. We get see how the characters deal with the aftermath of the Infinity War and what their options are moving forward. Each character was given their opportunity on screen during the movie. This is obviously easier to do since there are fewer characters after the events of Infinity War. I felt that many characters had an appropriate conclusion to their stories. The movie did leave me with a couple ...

Glass - Movie Review

History M. Night Shyamalan has made many movies that provide plot twists that are unusual. Unbreakable and Split are two such examples that surprisingly become part of the same universe. Unbreakable was released in 2000 by Walt Disney Studios. Split was released in 2017 by Universal Pictures. Glass is the third movie in the trilogy distributed jointly by Universal and Disney. M. Night Shyamalan’s movies were pretty reliable in the 1990s and early 2000s with movies like The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, and The Village. The Last Airbender in 2010 was horrible. With a rich story from the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender, M. Night managed to destroy over 8 hours of great story telling by condensing it into a 103 minute movie. Not to mention how the characters names were mispronounce throughout the film. I could spend an entire post on how that movie destroyed a live action series. My children convinced me to purchase Split. I admit at the time of this post, I have yet to...

Protecting Your Online Collection

Protecting Your Collection In this time of cyber crime, you want to protect your investment of digital movies. I will be focusing this page on the primary retailers that connect with Movies Anywhere. At the time of this post, I am only aware of Google and iTunes are the only two retailers that offer secondary authentication. Technically, Amazon offers a secondary authentication with the use of a pin for digital purchases. I highly recommend you use these security feature provided by Amazon, Google, and iTunes. This provides great protection for your collection and any saved credit card information that you have with the retailer. I would not advise keeping your credit card information with a online retailer but I understand it's convenience. With that said, I will point out that users have the ability to removed their credit card information from Amazon, FandangoNow, Google, iTunes (provided you are not using Family Sharing), and Microsoft. This is convenient when one of the retai...
